Hygge

Hygge (HIY-GAH) is a 59-unit apartment building in the heart of Portland's Eastside.

Hygge is a Scandinavian word inspired by the feeling of coziness and comfort.

Hygge is a 6 story building developed on a small 1/4 block (100’X100’) site in Portland’s east side. The site was small so the floor plates needed to be well thought though. We opted for a wider floor plate with modified “shot-gun” apartments on the northside, extra storage for residents in the corridor. The south facing façade is recessed with shallow, larger apartments and wider window lines.

The community has a 6th floor community deck, 80 secure bike parking stalls, only 15 parking spaces, an onsite leasing office and high end finishes. We designed the lobby with an integrated coffee shop that was delivered turn-key to the coffee shop owner/ operator.

The asset was sold upon stabilization.
